For over 13 years, Dr. Griggs has been the trusted regional health educator for WVUE FOX 8, appearing on air five days a week to demystify complex medical topics. His expertise has supported critical public health policy, including providing expert advice and written support to the Louisiana Legislature during vital investigations into the risks of recreational nitrous oxide, which successfully led to a state law banning its retail sale. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he emerged as a vital “voice of calm,” coordinating across City, State, and Federal government levels. His national impact was solidified through collaboration with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on campaigns that generated over 1.1 billion total impressions, with his individual segments alone reaching more than 250 million people.

Globally recognized as “Doc Griggs,” his influence reaches millions through international media and grassroots “on the ground” engagement in churches, preschools, and schools. For over 13 years, he has led the Annual Bayou Classic “Walk Around the Dome” and has collaborated on healthy living initiatives across the country. As the Vice Chairman of the Global Health & Wellness Committee for the 100 Black Men of America, he directs culturally grounded programs in the Turks and Caicos Islands and France, recently leading a youth delegation to the 2024 Paris Olympics. Whether serving on the Louisiana Children’s Cabinet Advisory Board, advising international government officials, or leading STEM NOLA initiatives, Dr. Griggs remains a steadfast champion of his signature mission: “Get Checked. Get Fit. Get Moving!®.
